Hi everyone interested in contributing!
So, it occurred to us that in this community of brilliant, talented, smart, creative, inspired and otherwise awesome people we usually briefly name "Roleplayers" , there should be vast amounts of freetime and skills that we could productively tap into for the upcoming Megagame. This thread is intended to be a first survey to that end.
Thing is, if and when we go forward with this, there will be several areas of preparation, organisation and other work where we will more than likely end up being more than glad about everyone who can contribute with some valuable skill or other help!
These areas will fall mainly into two categories: lets name them "spoiler-free" and "spoiler-esque"
The Spoiler-esque things will obviously be stuff like:
* writing, proofreading and playtesting rules
* writing the general scenario, the individual team briefings, possible in-game events, the potential epilogues and other fluff stuff
* helping to work out other organisational details that require one to be "in on" the secret stuff of the game
But, lo and rejoice, potential players out there! There will also be several "Spoiler-free" things you could help us with:
* drawing (or cad-modifying) maps and other graphical handouts and play-aids
* making character sheets that don't hurt the eyes to look upon and don't melt the brain to play with
* making (or otherwise obtaining) game tokens, counters, markers etc.
* tech support (anything from "i have loudspeakers and know how to hook them up to a mini-disc player so we could make announcements audible to all, or play background music during the player turns, or whatever" to "i have a beamer and wouldn't it be awesome to project things onto a large wall or something?" is welcome in this category)
* ... [things that didn't come to my mind yet] ...
Most of these can also be done by the orga team of course. But here is the place to speak up if you have valuable skills for any of those things, or other ideas of your own how you could (and want to) contribute to the project.
PS.: That said, it will likely be a few more weeks before any of this can be concretized any further. Once we have our definite setting and scenario agreed upon, we will move forward with fleshing that out, and than it will become rapidly apparent what sort of play-aids, fluff-writings, maps, tokens etc. we will actually need, and how many of them, etc...
